Hi there,
I understand what you are saying and where you are coming from. My intention was not to pick on equalityspeaks, I was pointing out that her post was problematic because it used ableist language in the title.
I understood before I responded to her post that it was not her original post and therefore not her speech, but a blog that commits itself to social justice needs to examine what it is publishing.
I follow equalityspeaks, so I was not trolling the blog through tags or whatever, it showed up on my dashboard and I took problem with the post.
I usually enjoy what is published by the blog, this one was problematic because it used ableist language. I have no high horse, I don’t criticize things, if anything I try to hold people accountable for what they are saying.
If the owner of equalityspeaks wishes to speak with me about this matter, I would be more than happy to explain to her why I was disappointed in her post.
If she was just assisting you with your phone, she easily could have sent you a message or some other form of communication.
Thanks for voicing your concerns though!
All the best,
Jan.
